ADULT SIZE: 5 cm

WATER CONDITIONS: Very hard and alkaline

TEMPERATURE RANGE: 23-27 C

FOOD: Feed Corydoras melanistius small live-foods and fine grade dried foods

DISTRIBUTION: This species comes from French Guiana, Guyana, Surinam

AQUARIUM CARE: Like all Corys, the blue-spot likes a tank with a sandy substrate, plants and caves in which to hide. Best kept in a shoal of at least 6 individuals.

BREEDING: Breeding can occur in a community tank, though raising the young will be significantly easier in a dedicated breeding tank.
