(Other members of the genus Rasbora)
ADULT SIZE: 6 cm
WATER CONDITIONS: Moderately soft and acidic
TEMPERATURE RANGE: 24-28 C
FOOD: Feed Rasbora pauciperforata small live-foods and fine grade dried foods
DISTRIBUTION: This species comes from Indonesia, Malaysia
AQUARIUM CARE: The red-line Rasbora prefers the surface levels of its habitat, around floating plants, where it feeds on surface insects. It is an active shoaler, but does not need fast flowing water. An attempt to replicate this in captivity would involve a large tank with surface plants, and regular feedings of fruit flies supplemented by other live foods and some dry food.
BREEDING: Breeding is possible in the maintenance tank, especially if newly hatched artemia nauplii are regularly given, as this will provide food for adults and fry alike
